Events: Mark Your Calendars – Three Shanghai Christmas Markets for 2018
It may be only November, but Shanghai’s already breaking out the holiday spirit. Already, venues have started confirming event dates (more coming soon!). So, Shanghaiers, mark your calendars and get ready to leave your apartments to dive into the cold, munch on holiday favorites, and drink glühwein to your heart’s content.
1. French Christmas Market
Shanghai wouldn’t be Shanghai without your oh-so-local French-style Christmas market. For the fifth year in a row, The Pearl is hosting a Parisian themed market, complete with French delicacies, mulled wine, gift stalls, live music, and a chance to meet “le Père Noel” (Father Christmas).
Location: The Pearl, 471 Zhapu Road, Hongkou District Entrance: ¥20 (free for kids under 6)
Dates: Nov 24th & 25th (12pm-10pm)
2. The Paulaner Bräuhaus Christkindlmarkt
After 11 years running, Paulaner Christkindlmarkt has established itself as an authentic, German- style Christmas market. Expect a large, festive market with bratwurst, spiced hot chocolate, glühwein, and other treats. Find everything you need for the holidays, including handmade gifts, real Christmas trees, and seasonal artisanal produce.

Location: Paulaner Brauhaus, 555 Expo Avenue, Pudong District Entrance: ¥30 (free for kids under 10)
Dates: Dec 7th (3-10pm), Dec 8th (11am-10pm), Dec 9th (11am-9pm)
3. Christmas Market at Un Caffe Bar
This indoor market will have over 20 vendors selling handicrafts, seasonal foods and drinks, and designer products. Kid-friendly workshops make it the perfect event for families.
Location: Un Caffe Bar, 7th Floor, 77 Jiangning Road, Jingan District
Entrance: Free
Dates: Dec 15th (11am-5pm)
